Description: This manual was part of a two-manual set: a user guide and a reference manual. I was a member of a two-person team for the set. I wrote about 90% of the user guide and 10% of the reference manual.

The user guide and the reference manual described cdsLoad, which was the company's software installation program, and SoftShare, which was the company's license manager. (SoftShare was based on Highland Software's FLEXlm license manager.) The company named this product combination the Cadence Unified Installation and License Manager.

The user guide explained how to use the menu-driven version of cdsLoad to install software and set up a simple licensing configuration. The reference manual explained how to set up more sophisticated licensing, manage licenses, and use the UNIX command-line version of cdsLoad to install, update, and remove software. Also, the reference manual listed error message explanations, enabled troubleshooting, and contained other reference information on cdsLoad and SoftShare licensing.

The company distributed this manual set only in paper form.
